Simply pop into The Sensory Boutique to collect your map and begin your adventure through Mudgeeraba. Feel free to print your trail map before you arrive or screenshot to your phone to help save paper.

THE STORY BEFORE YOU START YOUR ADVENTURE
Deep in the heart of Mudgeeraba Village, some very special visitors have arrived — the Mermaids from Far North Queensland. Aria, Melody and Reef have travelled a very long way to visit their family and friends along the Mudgeeraba Fairy Trail.
Their journey from the tropics to Mudgeeraba wasn’t all smooth sailing. To reach the Village, the Mermaids had to travel past the mysterious Dino Island — a place not many are lucky enough to pass. It’s home to Captain Wallaby, his cheeky crew, Snuff the Dragon and some very noisy dinosaurs!
Luckily, their giant friend Big Pink helped them safely across the island without too much trouble. They filled their bellies with pepperoni and mushroom pizza from the local pizzeria, Lenny, before continuing their adventure.
After a little more searching, the Mermaids finally spotted the magical Highway to Fairyland. Waiting there to welcome them into town were their old friends Metal Yeti, Iron Marvin and the Gateway Unicorns, Galaxy and Gypsy.
After all that travelling, the Mermaids were feeling very tired, so they wiggled into GT Travel Café to visit their good friend Billy Buzz. The Mermaids and the local fairies LOVE visiting Billy Buzz to hear all the latest Village news while sipping babychinos, nibbling chocolate freckles and enjoying Billy’s favourite chai tea with an extra shot of honey.
Did you know you can even book a holiday adventure on a giant cruise ship there? Maybe the Mermaids will sail home on a big cruise ship.
Rested and full of chai tea, the Mermaids wiggled over to visit their Mermaid cousins Pearl, Coral and Marina, who were enjoying their work break at the best fish and chip shop in town. (HOT TIP – order the potato scallops, they are the crispiest, tastiest treats in town, the Mermaids' favourite yum!!).
Rosie, the gentle fairy who cares for all the tiny underground creatures until they are big enough to spread their wings, lives nearby and is very excited for the Mermaids’ arrival. If you are very quiet — and very lucky — you might spot the little babies practising their first flights in the sunshine.
Sweetpea is Rosie’s neighbour. She spends her days happily swinging in the garden with her animal friends — Honey the cow, Snow, Banjo, Bluey and Mango the dogs, plus Rainbow the Unicorn.
Melody the Mermaid forgot to pack her sunglasses for the trip, but she is in luck! Lucky Cat owns a very cool store filled with fantastic sunnies. Melody loves the biggest and brightest pairs she can find! While they were there, Reef decided it might be a good idea to have her eyes checked too, just to make sure they were sparkling and healthy.
Lucky Cat told the Mermaids about a beautiful little flower shop nearby, and Aria thought it would be lovely to pick up a bunch of flowers before visiting Bluebell.
Bluebell lives at the Bookness Book Shop and is one of the Mermaids’ oldest and dearest friends. She loves books almost as much as she loves zooming around town on her bicycle with her best friend Honey Bumble Bee. If you’re lucky, you might spot her resting quietly amongst the storybooks.
Finally, it’s time for one last magical celebration!
The Mudgeeraba Fairies know exactly how to throw a party and have planned a surprise disco celebration for the Mermaids before they journey home to Far North Queensland — a magical day filled with music, laughter and fairy fun to farewell their seaside friends.

The Mermaids from Far North Queensland have arrived in Mudgeeraba Village! Aria, Melody and Reef have travelled a very long way to visit their family and friends hidden throughout the Fairy Trail.
Follow the clues below, keep your eyes open wide and see how many magical creatures you can discover along the way... the Mermaids start their adventure at The Sensory Boutique.
TRAIL STOPS
STOP 1 — DINO ISLAND
Look carefully for:
- Captain Wallaby
- Snuff the Dragon
- Noisy Dinosaurs
- Big Pink
CLUE: A magical island where dinosaurs stomp and dragons play… they also love to EAT PIZZA!!
STOP 2 — THE HIGHWAY TO FAIRYLAND
Look carefully for:
- Metal Yeti
- Iron Marvin
- Galaxy the Unicorn
- Gypsy the Unicorn
CLUE: The magical gateway into Fairyland can be found in tucked away close to the stage in Cuddihy Park (not too far from Dino Island)
STOP 3 — BILLY BUZZ CAFÉ
Look carefully for:
- Billy Buzz
CLUE: A cosy stop filled with babychinos, chocolate freckles and chai tea. The Mermaids often book holidays on a cruise ship here!!
STOP 4 — THE MERMAID COUSINS
Look carefully for:
- Pearl
- Coral
- Marina
CLUE: The crispiest potato scallops in town can be found nearby!
STOP 5 — ROSIE’S GARDEN
Look carefully for:
- Rosie the Fairy
- Tiny baby fairies learning to fly
CLUE: Be very quiet… tiny wings may be fluttering nearby, be sure to check the big garden beds nearby.
STOP 6 — SWEETPEA’S SWING
Look carefully for:
- Sweetpea
- Honey the Cow
- Snow
- Banjo
- Bluey
- Mango
- Rainbow the Unicorn
CLUE: A magical garden filled with friendship and sunshine, not too far from Rosie.
STOP 7 — LUCKY CAT’S SUNNIES
Look carefully for:
- Lucky Cat
- Lucky Cat’s Unicorn Tower
CLUE: Sparkly sunglasses and magical eyes await.
STOP 8 — THE FLOWER STOP
Look carefully for Petal:
- Beautiful flowers for Bluebell
CLUE: A colourful little stop blooming with colour and beauty.
STOP 9 — BOOK SHOP
Look carefully for:
- Bluebell
- Honey Bumble Bee
CLUE: Books, bicycles and a little bit of fairy magic.
FINAL STOP — THE FAIRY DISCO PARTY

- Dancing Unicorns
- Disco Balls
- One final Mermaid celebration!
